In the UK alone, 14 million people live below the poverty line. At a time when the impact of COVID-19 has made it even harder for many people to financially, or physically, access food, this number is set to increase dramatically, and the work of charities in the emergency food aid sector, has become a vital part of the pandemic relief effort. Hear Angela and Shahron's story of how they've been helping our local food bank.
BNP Paribas' UK arm today said it will direct a further £500,000 to supporting disadvantaged, vulnerable and isolated people impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic in the UK. This is in addition to £500, 000 committed last week to London’s Imperial Health Charity and brings the total amount of donations by the BNP Paribas group to over $55 million worldwide.
BNP Paribas has organised a global response to the COVID-19 crisis. The direct support plan, activated in over 30 countries, provides local support for hospitals, vulnerable populations and young people. The additional commitment brings the Group's contribution to over €50m.
In business, communication is always key, but in these unprecedented times, it’s more important than ever for business leaders to unite their workforce by mastering this art. At BNP Paribas Personal Finance, protecting our colleagues has always been a priority, and as a result we’ve been able to transition our workforce to remote working, allowing us to continue serving our partners from the safety of our new ‘offices’.
What is your business doing to inspire the next generation? Here at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, we like to take a hands-on approach when giving back to our local community, and our partnership with Dallaglio RugbyWorks, which has enabled them to deliver their successful programme, including Career Taster Days, across the Midlands, is something we’re very proud of.
